Cauliflower represents the first volume dedicated to the work of the Peruvian artist based in the United Kingdom.
Together for almost 20 years. Designed by vm& graphic studio, the publication reproduces the pieces that were part of the exhibition and includes an introductory essay by Florencia Portocarrero, also the book's editor, and two short stories by two of the most promising voices in contemporary Peruvian poetry and fiction: Tilsa Otta and Richard Parra.
About the artist
Esteban Igartua (Lima, 1974) lives and works in Bristol. He holds a BA in Fine Arts from the Catholic University of Peru and has completed postgraduate studies at the Slade School of Arts and the Byam Shaw Institute in London. Recent exhibitions include Excursión, Garua (Lima), Campo Ocupado, Revolver Galería (Lima), The Culture Clash, Working Rooms (London), Prophet, Spike Island (Bristol, 2008); among many others. His work has been featured in catalogues such as the Bloomberg New Contemporaries (2003) and more recently in 77 Contemporary Peruvian Artists (2017), a publication edited by the Mario Testino Museum MATE.
