MALI Peruvians Power: Tilsa Tsuchiya
As part of the new alliance between Pichoncito and MALI—which was created to create books that highlight Peru's artistic legacy—Peruanos Power presents its latest title: Tilsa Tsuchiya.
Tilsa was an original child, just like her name. She discovered her passion for painting at a very young age and fantasized about the stories she heard about her Eastern and Peruvian ancestors. These tales led her to develop a new way of painting, a unique style filled with fantastical beings and scenes, and thanks to her talent and determination, she achieved worldwide recognition. Tilsa has been recognized as one of the most important Peruvian artists of the Bicentennial and was chosen as the face of the 200-sole banknote.
