I Am a Garden is a return to childhood. A step back in time to walk once again through the gardens of yesteryear. To spy once again on hummingbirds fluttering among the salvias, to smell the perfume of the magnolias. To see Grandma's spoon turning and turning in the pot where the quince is simmering. It is also a book of living memories: a book that seeks to evoke the memory of spontaneous play, outdoors, in contact with nature during the first stage of life. In a personal journey, delivered almost in whispers, it invites little ones to play outside, to have sensitive experiences in a natural environment where they can freely discover and explore the plant world and live their own adventures. It is to reconnect with nature, discovering all its secrets, enchanted by the universe of shapes, textures, colors, smells, and flavors that gardens hold in childhood. I Am a Garden is divided into two parts. In the first, plants, flowers, and trees are evoked in short texts anchored in the senses, memories, and experiences. The second part, The Little Encyclopedia of My Garden, explores the origin and characteristics of each of the species featured in the book.
