Atlas of collective housing in Lima. Architecture and urban design
This book studies the construction of architecture as an infrastructural fact for the configuration of cities, understanding it as a cultural response to the construction of society as a whole. Throughout its pages, the book exposes the successes and failures of collective housing projects in Lima, both in the social, urban, and formal aspects, as well as in terms of their effects on the urban experience. Through a systematic analysis, the content provides insight into and comparison of the main elements and characteristics of these housing projects. The ultimate objective of this publication, intended for specialists, students, and the general public alike, is to enable the recognition of the intrinsic values of architecture through housing projects carried out in Peru, thereby helping to recover its values in relation to the construction and social development of the country. Finally, this book, which includes a collection of important projects, also seeks to foster trust among architects, developers, and government officials to realize socially, urbanly, architecturally, and culturally significant projects in Peru, particularly housing developments, since it is there that architecture directly impacts society as a whole.
